WEEK 19: November 4, 2019

Halloween day at the Elementary school
This week was straight rain!  The roads are all like small rivers and my shoes are all soaked!  This week started off with Halloween!  And to celebrate Halloween we... worked all day clapping doors and finding new people!  But also a member in our ward needed our help in the school she teaches at, so she had us come and pretty much destroy Halloween for these 10 year old kids!  We were told to talk about how Halloween is not Christian and Jesus doesn’t like that we celebrate Halloween and that we should celebrate Thanksgiving instead!  Interesting thing to do on Halloween but it was an interesting change up haha.

The next day, me and my companion taught a seminary class for the 3 youth members of our ward!  This was actually pretty cool!  We read a little bit of Matthew and then a little bit from the Doctrine and Covenants; where i found i think my new favorite verse from D & C!  it's from section 58, verse 4; you all should go read it really fast!  It talks very simply about how life really isn't easy sometimes, but that we really will be blessed after this life.  Missions really aren't easy!  Sometimes it feels like an uphill battle where no one wants to learn what we are teaching, but i really know that when we serve others (even tho it’s not easy) we will be blessed!

Finished the week off yesterday with an interesting story, we returned to our apartment after our day of work to hear an interesting sound, like an animal, so we went searching!  And we found this really weird looking frog (in Portuguese its called a “huh”) sitting on our balcony!  We have no idea how it got there!  Pictures will be down below haha.

P-day lunch from Chef Hammond: Grilled Chicken Sandwich with hopefully safe lettuce.
