WEEK 69: October 11, 2020

Elder Hammond, Robert, President Lindsay's brother, Elder Jones

This was a pretty eventful week!!  We did some service at some non-members’ pig barn, and we did a hike and a bonfire with my district.

We worked super hard this week to get Robert prepared for his baptism on Sunday!!  It went super well.  Funny story though... Robert is a pretty big guy (width and height) and we thought The XL baptismal clothes would be fine for him so we brought a Large and an extra large suit down to Fort Sumner... Well turns out it didn't fit!  We made it work... Pictures at the top!   Anyway, we are on track to baptize Juanita in these next two weeks and we are hoping for the best!

1 Nephi 3:7 (And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.)

Robert's baptism

Next Monday we get to go to Lubbock to give Elder Jones the chance to go through the temple.  He's excited and I'm excited to visit the "big city" and get some shopping done!

Thanks for reading!!

Elder Hammond

Cute new converts playing missionary.  They are adorable!

From our Conversation:

  • Andrew played his violin again in church.  He played “If You Could Hie to Kolob” and the branch president’s wife accompanied him on the piano.  He said it went well.
  • They used the same river to baptize Robert as they used in passed baptisms.
