WEEK 64: September 7, 2020

Isha's baptism
Elder Hammond, Isha's husband and three kids, Elder Jones & Isha's dad, Tony

This week was awesome!!  We helped a member at his ranch, but unfortunately he couldn't round his cattle up long enough for us to get them branded... So we will be heading up there again next week to help again!  I'm excited to brand some cows haha.

Other than that, we baptized Isha this week!!!!   It was SO awesome.  She overcame some last minute challenges and the baptism was phenomenal!!  And shortly after the baptism one of our new investigators (Robert) said he'd love to be baptized!  Things are moving along really well and we are hoping Robert can be baptized in the next few weeks!

Other than that... We helped a lady move this week and we got an ice cream machine and a waffle maker, they are already being put to good use haha.

Thanks for reading!!

From our Conversation:

  • Andrew gave up on cutting his own hair and just buzzed the whole thing off.  Desperate times…
  • Before

    After
  • They already made peach and then vanilla ice-cream in their inherited ice cream maker.
  • Vanilla ice cream

  • The branch president’s wife drove by a random house this week and felt very strongly that the missionaries needed to meet the family inside, so she called Andrew and told him about her experience and asked them to please knock on that door.  They did and the woman who answered was very willing to talk to them and invited them to come back and teach her family.  The only caveat is, no one in the house speaks much English so Andrew has to really study his Spanish this week.
  • Andrew and his companion are traveling to Santa Rosa for 2 days this coming week.  It’s part of their area, but is rather far away.  A member in their branch owns a hotel there and is letting them stay a night there for free so they can work with the members and part-member families that live there.
  • Isha’s dad attended her baptism on Sunday and apparently is also a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints!  Three generations can all support each other now!
