WEEK 57: July 20, 2020 Happy 20th Birthday Elder Hammond

Ice Cream Cake at the Branch President's home

There goes another week!  This week was a little uneventful, the highlight was my birthday!  We spent my birthday with our branch president, he threw me a little party and invited all the missionaries over.  We had some good food, ice cream cake (I used a leaf blower to blow out the candles to be covid safe haha, and he showed us his gun collection at the end. *insane*!

Other than that, we had church Sunday which was good.  And unfortunately due to increasingly worse conditions in Texas, we can't leave the state of New Mexico... so our zone conference got moved to Roswell (yeah the alien town).  I'm excited to see what that holds and excited to meet our new mission president!

My district got asked to produce an ad for our mission to try and push this Facebook finding.  We made a fun little ad and we are hoping for some good results.  Love y'all.  Have a good week

Love,
Elder Hammond

From our conversation:
  • We were at Lake Powell when he called so I kind of forgot what the highlights of our conversation were.
  • He didn’t get the birthday package before his birthday, but got it a couple of days ago.  I was really happy that it finally arrived and he liked what we packed for him. (cake mix, frosting, candles, birthday balloon, some Amazon ties, some beautiful homemade ties from Austin Halls who is Becca’s boyfriend, a puzzle for boring P-days and a few other things)
  • Shout out to Uncle Sam and Aunt Melissa who also sent a thoughtful birthday package and it actually arrived on time.
