Sick week!

Well I stayed here in Vacaria, meaning i'll be leaving this area with 6 months in this area alone!!  This week was a little rough. Tuesday my companion started throwing up... and his sickness continued until Friday, so I spent a lot of time studying and reading "Saints" at home!!  I'm super close to finishing the book in Portuguese which is super awesome, that book is super sweet and really is helping me with my knowledge of Joseph Smith!  Don't have a ton to say today, but thanks for reading and have a good week!!

From our conversation:

• There will be a new mission president in Florianopolis in July.  His name is Wagner Bronze Damiani.  He is currently a professor at the U of U. 
• Andrew finally gave the talk that he prepared for a couple of weeks ago but couldn't give because the Stake President showed up.  The other person who was supposed to show up yesterday, didn’t.  He had to speak twice as long.  He talked about the importance of member missionary work.
• Some of the ward members pass a chimarrao (mate’ - South American herbal tea) around their bench during sacrament meeting.  
• Andrew called the bus company the night before transfers to see if a ticket had been purchased for him. (Sneaky) They looked it up under “Andrew” and told him that Yes, he was going to Cacador (his previous area).  He couldn’t believe it!  Then the lady said, “How will you get from Vacaria to Lages to catch your bus?”  He then asked, “Wait, what’s the last name?”  It was Nielson!  He is staying in Vacaria for 6 more weeks and is very happy he is NOT going back to Cacador!!

20th Birthday celebration for Elder Barbosa

• Elder Barbosa turned 20 on Tuesday.  Andrew bought a bunch of cupcakes and a 3L or Coke to celebrate.  Elder Barbosa got sick right after that. :/

So sick!

• Vacaria got its first Subway!  For those that don’t know this, Andrew worked at our Springville Subway for about a year.  It will feel like home when he goes there in Brazil...maybe.
• Their mission is getting smart phones on February 2 for the first time ever.
• He ate chicken stomach this week.  He said that it was ok, but not as good as chicken hearts.
