WEEK 27: December 30, 2019

Stephanie got baptized on Saturday!

This week was freaking hot (Between 85 and 105 with high humidity and no AC).  Every time we went proselytizing, we had to bring an umbrella to guard the sun!

This week really had one big highlight, the baptism of Stefanie (18 years old) was this week!  I baptized her and it only took me 3 tries... first time I forgot the name, second time I said the name completely wrong, and the last time I got it right!  It was a super awesome day and was afterward she said she is hoping to serve a mission in a year or two!

Not much else to say this week, but I hope you all had a great Christmas, and felt the love of Christ in this holiday season, and that you all can have a great new year's day!

Love you and miss you all!

From our Conversation:
A little Craft Mac and Cheese for Christmas

  • The “long-legged” mosquitoes are out and really like the way Andrew tastes.  Between those pests and the heat, he is having a hard time sleeping at night.
  • He took care of his own ingrown toenail.  YUCK! I guess he used the knife that an investigator made for him and cut out the ingrown part.  That completely freaked me out, but he assured me that it’s healing and isn’t infected.  Goodness, it’s a miracle that these 18-20 year old boys survive on their own at all.
  • He had a good Christmas, but not very Christmasy Christmas.  He enjoyed the Mac and Cheese we sent him.  His companion didn’t like it at all and said it didn’t even taste like cheese at all.  Haha.
  • Stephanie’s mother is asking if she can be baptized now!  So they are teaching her.
  • I asked Andrew why he didn’t have any pictures of Stephanie and him in the whites for the baptism and he said, “My camera battery got too hot and exploded.”
  • There hadn’t been a baptism in a year and a half in that area and for that whole time, no one had emptied the font.  We forgot to ask who cleaned it out so they could refill it with clean water, but now Andrew and Elder Barbosa have to figure out how to empty now so next time there is a baptism, there isn’t moss growing and brown water in the church font.
